چکیده

An approach and its implementation in 0.18 μm CMOS process of the multichannel ASIC for capacitive (up to 30 pF) sensors are described in the paper. The main design aim was to study an analog data-driven architecture. The design was done for an analog derandomizing function of the 128 to 16 structure. That means that the ASIC structure should provide a parallel front-end readout of 128 input analog sensor signals and after the corresponding fast commutation with appropriate arbitration logic their processing by means of 16 output chains, including analog-to-digital conversion. The principal feature of the ASIC is a low power consumption within 2 mW/channel (including a 9-bit 20Ms/s ADC) at a maximum average channel hit rate not less than 150 kHz. Keywords—Data-driven architecture, derandomizer, multichannel sensor readout

All-Digital Interface ASIC for a QCM-Based Electronic Nose

An all digital interface, application specific integrated circuit (ASIC) has been developed for the control and data sampling of a quartz crystal microbalance (QCM)-based electronic nose. The ASIC is capable of measuring QCM resonant frequency between 0 – 11 MHz with a resolution of 1 Hz and +/1 Hz precision. The ASIC has been used to obtain measurements from polymer coated QCM sensors, in conj...

Effective Static Response Compensation Suitable for Low-Power ASIC Implementation with an Application to Pressure Sensors

This paper presents an efficient all-digital compensation technique for sensors measuring static or slowly-varying quantities such as pressure. The proposed solution compensates the temperature dependencies and further non-linearities affecting the accuracy and measure ment range of the sensors. In addition, for the considered pressure sensors, the trimming that is usually performed in factory ...

Multichannel video/audio acquisition for immersive conferencing

This paper presents an information-driven audiovisual signal acquisition approach. This approach has several advantages: users are encouraged to assist in signal acquisition; available sensors are managed based on both signal characteristics and users’ suggestions. The problem formulation is consistent with many well-known empirical approaches widely used in previous systems and may provide ana...

Multichannel Kondo approach to the cuprate and recent laser ARPES data

The existing theoretical approaches have been unable to confront the large corpus of outstanding data on the cuprate superconductor in a persuasive and unified manner. There is a general opinion now growing that these theories miss some essential points. We propose one based on multichannel Kondo effect that is physically justifiable and confronts the data adequately. In addition to earlier da...
